The Dark Knight

Saturday about 6:00pm we checked the mailbox and Cainen was so excited to see his Dark Knight costume had come in, immediately we had to put it on and get some "bad" guys.  Bed time came and I had to make a deal with him that if he took his costume off he could wear his Batman PJ's to bed.  Sunday morning the first thing he wanted was to put back on his costume, after several no's... he sat, eating breakfast in his batman PJ's, cape and mask!  Needless to say after a little bit of a struggle I got him into his Sunday clothes but as you have already guessed, he was back in the costume as soon as we walked back in from church!  He went to a friend's house down the street to play for a couple of hours and yes he showed up to their house and knocked on the door as the Dark Knight!  I think I finally got him out of the costume about 6:00-7:00pm.  Boys and their superheroes!!!!!

Imagination!

I love how Cainen is always using his imagination!  I came into my closet and asked what he was doing and said he was baking a birthday cake  (with all of my make-up) The baby powder being the milk as he shook it and my face lotion being the honey!  As you can see there is a "special" pile to the left.  He says that all that stuff has peanut in it and it's in the peanut oven!  I love how their little minds work!

Having a Little FUN!!!

I planned a whole weekend of family fun for memorial day.  I think all I did was cook!!!!!  It was great having my family over at our new house for the first time just to eat and play (but I think we mostly just ate!!!)  I am so glad our children are growing up calling each other cousins but acting like brothers and sisters.  My sister and I always said we would do whatever it took to have a close family and I think so far it's working!!!

Cainen Always Has a Way of Viewing Things!

Last night Cainen asked if we could read his Bible which is really a daily devotion for kids.  So we laid in his bed and today's lesson was titled " He fights for me. Exodus 14"  It goes on to say that if we obey God he will fight for us.  So Cainen looks at me and says " Gods going to fight us?"  I said "No, if we obey God he will stand up for us"  Cainen proceeds to say as serious as he could be "So.. if we don't obey God he will sit down?"  I had to keep my composer and not laugh in his face and say "No baby, if we obey God then he will protect us"  Kids...I love how their minds work.  Cliff and I had a great laugh over that one!
